ST. LOUIS – – — William Nylander scored in extra time for Toronto after colleague TJ Brodie missed an extra shot before the additional meeting. The Maple Leafs beat the St. Louis Blues 5-4 on Tuesday night.

Justin Holl, Alexander Kerfoot, Calle Jarnkrok, and John Tavares likewise scored for Toronto, and Ilya Samsonov made 30 recoveries as the Leafs won their third in a row to improve to 10-2-1 in December.

Brodie was granted an extra shot 1:24 into spare time in the wake of being stumbled by Kyrou, yet Binnington got his right cushion on the puck to protect the 4-4 tie.
Keefe began the additional time by sending defensemen Brodie and Timothy Liljegren alongside focus David Kampf to establish a guarded vibe.
“It fundamentally changes the dynamic of extra time,” Keefe said. “Regardless of whether it’s a component, I’m not exactly certain, however, later in the extra time when you see our best folks have legs, actually have energy, the way that (Nylander) did to hop on that puck and take off, I couldn’t say whether that is the motivation behind why it worked that way, yet I preferred how it worked out.”

Jarnkrok scored from behind the objective line to put Toronto ahead 4-3 with 4:44 leftover in the subsequent period.
